This beautiful cottage is along the Grand Canal at Naas, Co. Kildare. I cycle and walk past it regularly. I’m often struck by it’s beauty and simplicity. I had planned to photograph it for a long time and on this occasion I was rewarded by the presence of the dark menacing clouds. The rain storm was off in the distance and I waited for it to come my direction and it obliged. The heavy drops of rain can be seen hitting the surface of the water in the foreground. I quickly gathered up my gear and ran for cover.

Works really well with a white frame. A dark brown frame is also a good option. Also available in black and white.
