The Twelve Bens or some times called The Twelve Pins are a range of mountains in the heart of Connemara, Co. Galway. This image was taken from ‘The Bog Road’ near Clifden. The lake in the foreground is typical of the thousands of lakes all over Connemara, made famous in France by the great song ‘Les Lacs du Connemara’ by Michel Sardou…check out the video on youtube.
I have printed this image on both Hahnemuhle cotton paper and on Artist Watercolour 250 gsm fine art paper by Perma Jet. The artist watercolour paper is textured and it gives a painterly effect to the print, as if it was done on a canvas. When done like this it is a truly amazing print, the texture in the clouds is unique.
